You can add an extra tablespoon of lemon juice to the sauce if you prefer a tangier sauce. You can use 1 or 2 slices of ham inside each chicken breast, depending on the thickness of the slice.Putting mustard inside the chicken breast to bake is optional, but I think it gives it a richer flavor and moistens the chicken. You tuck the bundles in when you fold the chicken back around the ham & cheese bundle. If it’s easier for you to butterfly the chicken breasts open, that’s okay to do instead of just cutting a pocket.Serve the mustard cream sauce poured over the top of the stuffed chicken breasts, and enjoy! TIPS FOR SUCCESS STEP FIVE: Take the chicken out of the oven. Microwave the ingredients in two 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until the sauce is warmed and smooth. Add the heavy cream, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, and grated parmesan into a microwave-safe bowl. STEP FOUR: Make the mustard cream sauce when the chicken is almost done. Place the ham and cheese stuffed chicken breasts onto a baking tray, drizzle them with two teaspoons of olive oil, and bake them for 25 minutes. Sprinkle the seasoning evenly over both sides of each chicken breast. STEP THREE: In a small dish, mix the paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Prepare two ham and cheese rolls by laying the ham slices onto a clean surface, topping them with a slice of Swiss cheese, and rolling them into a tight bundle. STEP ONE: Start by preheating the oven to 390 degrees F. HOW TO MAKE EASY HAM & CHEESE STUFFED CHICKEN Mustard Cream Sauce: This simple sauce consists of heavy cream, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, freshly grated parmesan, salt, and pepper and comes together in the microwave. Seasoning: Season the outside of each stuffed chicken breast with a mixture of paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. I think Swiss cheese melts the best without running out of the sides. You can use a different cheese if you prefer. I like to use thinly sliced ham, so I use two slices and a slice of Swiss cheese per breast. Stuffing: You’ll stuff each breast with rolled ham slices, Swiss cheese, and a smear of Dijon mustard for flavor. You can double the recipe if you’re cooking for a family of four. Chicken: This recipe calls for two boneless, skinless chicken breasts. Hike or take the gondola back down and then reward yourself afterward with a pint at one of the pubs in the Stratton Village. Thyme also is the focus of a famous (perhaps infamous) botanical pun: She thought she had collected oregano, but she really had thyme on her hands. Because of its attractive aroma thyme has been used for centuries to assist with the embalming of corpses. In the language of flowers thyme is equated with activity. The perfume of thyme was thought by the ancient Greeks to restore a person’s energy. In the English tradition it is considered unlucky to bring sprigs of wild thyme into the house, as the action will bring death of severe illness to a member of the family when boiled in water with vinegar, considered a cure for whooping cough magical aspects include the belief in rural England that an infusion of thyme rubbed into one’s hair will stave off the greying process and maintain the original color. It is said by Christian believers that thyme was one of several plants used to fill the manger upon which the infant Jesus was laid, hence its religious significance throughout the Mediterranean. Take marigold flowers, a sprig of marjoram, thyme, and a little wormwood dry them before a fire, rub them to powder, then sift it through a fine piece of lawn simmer with a small quantity of virgin honey in white vinegar, over a slow fire with this anoint your stomach, breasts, and lips, lying down, and repeat these words thrice – Luke’s Day (October 18 th) a second forecasting tradition using thyme took place in traditional English households. In France during the years of the Republic, leaves of thyme served a political symbol. Since the Medieval Era thyme has been prescribed to prevent nightmares and to tone the nervous system. In England, thyme had an unusual link with religion the souls of murdered dead were thought to live in the flowers of thyme and it is planted on graves especially in Wales. Medieval English farmers would place wreaths of thyme and marjoram in their dairies near the milk cows, to prevent milk being spoiled or “turned” by thunder. During Medieval times thyme mixed with honey, was considered a potent remedy to combat lung disease. ĭuring the era of chivalry in England and France, women would embroider scarves with the symbols of a “bee hovering about a sprig of thyme” – and give it to her knight. The Culpeper herbal provides the following accounts: thyme is a noble strengthener of the lungs it purges the body of phlegm and is an excellent remedy for shortness of breath thyme also kills worms in the belly. Since the Roman era thyme has been used to induce abortion. The Romans also thought thyme was useful when treating epileptics who were advised to sniff the leaves and to sleep on sprigs of thyme. In Greek times thyme was a symbol of graceful elegance and emblematic of human activity: “To smell of Thyme was an expression of praise.” The Romans associated Thyme with the goddess Venus. This herb is symbolic of courage and activity and was used widely by the ancients to treat hookworm. The word thyme stems from the Greek, thymon, meaning to offer incense or sacrifice. Galvanized coated steel products WILL likely rust in the long term and we don’t recommend it. **Note! that some lower priced tables come with galvanized legs and/or undershelves. This may be OK as the undershelf doesn’t get nearly the same amount of use, but be sure to check. Undershelves may be of a lighter gauge or different stainless type. Stainless steel tables come with two main options for underspace usage: undershelves or open base. If you are in a very humid environment or very close to the seashore, then you should go with all stainless steel and preferably 304 to make equipment last longer. 304 – More expensive but higher quality (and what we recommend).Close enough to regular steel to be magnetic. Could stain or rust depending on products used and environmental factors (keep it clean and dry to make it last longer). The differences in structure can determine the steel’s durability and resistance to corrosion. The different types of stainless steel are determined by the crystalline structure of the steel itself. Lighter and less expensive than 16 or 14 gauge, these are often known as ‘budget tables’ and work best as work stations with light duty. The gauge of your stainless steel basically describes the thickness and, thus, durability of the steel itself the lower the gauge, the thicker the steel! Yes, Timmy was born a star and already has quite a following, but it was his premature life debut that initially caused such a stir. Since arriving at exactly 27 weeks gestation, less than 12 inches long and weighing 1 pound 6 ounces, Timmy has been the center of attention of not only parents Jenae Wallick and Tim Norman, their family and friends, and the adoring viewers of “Welcome to Sweetie Pie’s,” but the world-class caregivers in the NICU. During the first five months of Timmy’s life, that attention had little to do with performances and focused on live-saving and life-sustaining measures from a team of caregivers in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital. They say you can never get show biz out of your system, so the restaurants’ success, coupled with Miss Robbie’s entertainment background, landed the family a prime time network slot on the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) with a reality show/docuseries called “Welcome to Sweetie Pie’s.”įor Miss Robbie’s grandson Timmy - or TJ, as some family members call him - there was a time when being the center of attention wasn’t just about being cute. The line upīecause we’re Canadian, many of these brands aren’t available to us locally, so this was actually the first time we were trying each of these brands. We bought all the product ourselves so that we could share our true and honest opinions, no strings attached. And that’s totally cool! We’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below.Īlso, in case you were wondering: this post is not sponsored in any way. That being said, you may find that you like some of these brands more/less than we do. That and having traditional yogurt on hand, in case we needed a reminder of what the “real” stuff tastes like. We did our best to control for this by having two (sometimes four) people testing each yogurt. Sorry, not going to happen.Īnd it goes without saying that taste can be subjective. In our world, if something tastes horrible, there’s no amount of texture or ingredient benefits that could get us excited to eat it. Taste was by far the most important criteria. We judged based on taste, texture, and ingredients. But if there’s anything you can take away from this test, it’s that there's some vegan yogurts out there that taste just as good as dairy-based yogurt – but only if you pick it right. So, when we say something tastes or looks like “real” yogurt, we mean it. While we prefer vegan/dairy-free alternatives, we did buy a dairy-based yogurt to have on hand for a truer side-by-side comparison. For full disclosure, we occasionally eat dairy-based yogurt. And for particularly close calls, we looped in a couple friends to taste as well. We then tested again the next day to ensure we still agreed with the results from the day before. All these yogurts were bought at Whole Foods (except for the Silk, which came from Fred Meyers).įor the test, the two of us tasted all the plain yogurts head-to-head. If that’s not commitment to research, then we’re not sure what is. The border crossing was interesting, given we had approximately 30 plain & flavored yogurt containers stuffed in an ice-filled cooler in our trunk. In our quest to find the best vegan yogurt, we crossed the US border, bought as many dairy-free yogurts as we could find – and then headed back home to Canada. So we went ahead and did the hard work for you! Here we share the winners and losers of our taste test, so keep reading to save yourself from ever having a disappointing spoonful again. Finding a delicious brand of vegan yogurt can involve a lot of trial and error – and sadly, that could mean a huge wad of your hard-earned dough. While we wish we could say they were all amazing, the truth is they’re not. And (thankfully), there’s now more dairy-free varieties than ever before: soy-based, coconut-based, almond-based, you name it. Let’s face it: the yogurt aisle is brimming with possibilities. Partner doesn’t seem to be able to recognize when he and I have all the trumps (or all of any suit), and doesn’t seem to have the ability to utilize the strategy of holding on to a trump to catch count that opponents are holding on to. Partner and opponents continually make rookie mistakes. Even though I paid for a “smart” partner and challenging competition, I don’t feel like I got that. Finally, I wish there were more app choices for Texas 42 for us 42 players to choose from. I've played nello with this option for many years-more fun. Such an option gives the players more possibilities in bidding. I wish the game creaters would add this as an option to the game. Also, in the stated rules shown in their menu, it is stated that doubles can be a suit of their own in nello. I went into detail to show this app will make such recording errors regularly. My game should have been recorded as a win. By my calculation, my double was a walker and I won the points. Last trick I played a double blank, my opponent played a double 4, my partner followed the suit, and the last player (my opponent) played a 6-4. I just finished a hand and the AI recorded the last trick to my opponent. The main flaw is how the AI computes the scores. More details about the app can be found on the developer’s website. As a long-time player of 42, I know all the rules for 42. You can also install the iPad version on Apple Silicon Macs. The app requires an iPhone or iPad running iOS 15 or later. You can download Tinkerstellar 2.0 for free on the App Store. While the app remains available for free, the new courses are available as in-app purchases ranging from $1.49 to $2.99 each. The labs now cover a range of topics, from Python essentials to advanced apps for networking, web scraping, data visualization, machine learning, and more.Īs before, there’s no need to configure programming environments or depend on a network connection - Tinkerstellar’s coding labs come fully equipped with everything you need, allowing you to practice with real-world data, libraries, and APIs offline, directly on your device. But more than that, the new version also adds multiple new tutorials. Under the hood, Tinkerstellar 2.0 comes with many improvements, such as support for Python 3.10 and improved stability. The app is also getting a Personal Library, so users can track their learning progress and manage downloaded tutorials from a single place. The Explore tab has been completely redesigned, and labs are now organized by topic, making it easier to discover new content. With the iPhone version, Tinkerstellar also introduces a refreshed design. This means that users can have all the same Python tutorials available on the iPad right from their pockets. However, as detailed by the developer, the app now works with the iPhone as well. Tinkerstellar was first developed with the iPad in mind. Tinkerstellar is now getting a major update, adding new lessons, a refreshed interface, and for the first time, an iPhone version. I wrote last year about Tinkerstellar, a new iPad app inspired by Apple’s Swift Playground that’s designed to help people learn Python through multiple interactive lessons. |
